As I walked through the city, it seemed as if there was a park on every corner.

I feel like that sums up St. Louis.
Not that that is a bad thing. In fact, I think it’s pretty amazing.
The city hugs the Mississippi and from as you get closer, you start to see the grand arch. A silhouette against a wall of skyscrapers. As you get closer, lush green parks start to fill in the spaces between.
The arch lies in the middle of a grand park along the Mississippi. Fields and trails are plentiful. Sun if you want it. Shade if you need it.
A beautiful old courthouse lies along the border, keeping the city at bay.
But once you pass it, you realize almost every other block has another park.
Here’s one with fountains for the kids to play in.
Here is one with sculptures for the adults to ponder their purpose around. Over there is one with gardens of flowers blooming. As you explore, you discover that these are the true gems of this city.
