When I was a teenager, one of my hobbies was to go out gnomeing with my friends. We would find whatever local gardens had the best collections, and under the cover of night we would take our favorites and compile collections in our closets. I don’t know why, but I look back at those times extremely fondly. I tell you this story, because I think I found my spirit community out in the mountains outside of Boulder Colorado. In a little town called Red Feather Lakes is Gnome Rd, a 1/4 mile rd inhabited with communities of gnomes and other toys.
While I was exploring the area, I met a couple that lived down the road and they told me how they and their neighbors spend time taking care of the road, adding to it or taking away broken members. They expressed an interest in keeping it kind of secret. I’m not really helping them by blasting pics and videos about the place all over the internet, but I think this place deserves a little bit more traffic.
This place can be described in two ways. Either it is like a child’s fantasy come to life, filled with mysticism and enchantment around every corner. Or it can be straight out of a horror novel. It really depends on what you think these guys do when they come alive at night…
